Amity University
The Amity University has been established by an act of State Legislature and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) through the Act of State Legislature. The university has been at the forefront of technology and education and has launched programmes like cyber laws, bio-informatics and nano-technology among other professional courses. The institution has been pro-active in the field of research in science and technology. The main campus is not only tastefully built but is completely high-tech and wireless. The university has well-stocked libraries, good hostel and canteen facilities. There is also an Academic Staff college where staff development activities are undertaken. The university has filed number of patents from nanotechnology to food processing. It has been certified with the ISO 9000-14001 Quality Award by AQSR, USA. Though there were divergent views but most students agreed that they get lot of exposure and support from the institution. For instance, an IT student informed that he is pursuing a networking programme of a reputed IT company through the university’s tie-up initiatives.
IMT Ghaziabad
IMT was established in 1980 by eminent industrialist Mahendra Nath along with Dr. C. B. Gupta. Ranked as one of the top business schools in India, its primary campus is located at Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. It also has two other campuses, one in Nagpur and one in Dubai (United Arab Emirates). The main campus looks modern and is known for its eminent faculty and the quality of its courses. The institute strongly focuses on synthesising partnerships with global institutes. With over 70 student exchange tie-ups, students get the right exposure to work in a multi-cultural environment, with strong emphasis on team-based learning methods. The institute provides students with opportunities to work on joining research and consulting projects with their peers from international institutes. The faculties have put together a spectrum of more than 100 electives, including foreign languages. There are number of societies and clubs formed by students that conduct annual events, seminars and conferences. A spirited female student said, “These activities form a valuable part of our training at IMT”
O.P. Jindal Global University
JGU is a non-profit global university established by the Haryana Private Universities Act, 2009. Situated on a 70-acre residential campus in the National Capital Region of Delhi, the university claims to maintain a 1:15 faculty-student ratio and has faculty members from different parts of the world. JGU has currently established four schools namely Jindal Global Law School, Jindal Global Business School, Jindal School of International Affairs, and Jindal School of Government and Public Policy. The University has forged a number of international collaborations and is actively involved in organising seminars, lectures and conferences on major issues relating to law, business, international affairs and public policy. It has tie-ups with universities like Yale University, University of Michigan, Indiana University, Harvard University, Cornell University and the likes. “The University’s Global Library is being modeled after leading libraries at reputed universities in the world such as Harvard, Yale, Oxford and Cambridge”, informed a student of the university. Though, he was more impressed with the sports facilities for students available at the campus.

Institutions
JRE Group of Institutions, located at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh focuses to on create a good learning environment in which intellectual, practical and social skills are developed in a holistic way. The institute has academic partnership with names like Raffels Education, Singapore and Educomp. The faculty members are not only qualified but have hands on approach. The modern campus has been designed by professional architects and the institute has invested a lot in the latest technology. Sharda University
Established as a private university in Greater Noida through the U.P. State Legislative Act, the university is spread over 63 acres of land with well-developed infrastructure. The institution aims to inculcate competence through application of knowledge in real-life work environment. A multi-disciplinary institution, Sharda University has developed a number of international collaborations with reputed universities and colleges. It also has a high percentage of global faculty members with the aim to bring global best practices and a skill based learning environment. Students have the flexibility to pursue their programmes according to their needs. The options are all open and it all depends on the student how she/he wants to increase her/his effectiveness by choosing courses and credits. Apart from the number of research projects undertaken by the university, there are regular seminars, conferences and workshops for students and faculty members. Its Research and Technology Development Centre (RTDC) is involved in performing cutting edge research in the frontier areas of Science, Engineering, and Medicine.
Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT)
With the aim to play a leading role in the development of technical manpower and research programs comparable to the best, Jaypee Institutes of Information Technology, Noida is fully backed and supported by the Jaypee Group of Companies. The education system at the institute is based on credit system which ensures continuous evaluation of student’s performance. Each course is assigned certain number of credits depending upon the class contact hours. A specified number of credits and CGPA are to be completed satisfactorily in order to qualify for a degree. Ansal University (AU)
Popular for its schools of art & architecture and technology, Ansal University is known for its strong international collaborations with some of the top universities of USA and Canada like, Clemson University, North Dakota State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology and the likes. The university has adopted a trans-disciplinary approach and their focus lies on integration of curricula with the needs and demands of industry. Students are encouraged for project based learning but also from any other subject of your interest where completing the project involves joint research work that draws together concepts, theories, and approaches from the more than one discipline. The campus and its facilities are good and well-maintained. Recently, Sushant School of Design, part of AU and the University of Arts, London (UAL) got into a tie-up that provides students to study up to one semester at the UAL in London as part of their 4 year B Des programme. “Seminars, interaction with renowned professionals and our project works give us good learning and exposure”, says one of the students.
Apeejay Stya University (ASU)
Established by Apeejay Satya Education Foundation, Apeejay Satya University claims to be country’s first Liberal Arts and Meta university focused on research and technology. It offers a wide range of innovative graduate, postgraduate, doctoral programmes across a plethora of disciplines. ASU allows you to change your degree or major even in later semesters and re¬apply credits already gained. There is great flexibility as students can take any course the university offers and individually customise their schedule in a semester. APG Shimla University
APG Shimla University is an upcoming university formed by AP Goyal Charitable Trust, New Delhi. Ideally located in the hills, the university is not only technologically advanced but has well-developed curricula. It has collaborations with Univerza V Mariboru (University of Maribore) Slovenia, Mogilev State A Kulesshov University, Belarus and China Agricultural University, China. APG Shimla encourages students to participate in extra-curricular activities, projects, seminars and conferences. For instance, besides the core degree courses, students do have the option to go for yoga classes, learn a language, and even indulge in some music therapy. Apart from regular class rooms, the university has digital learning and video recording in classes that immensely help the students if they want to revisit the lectures. The university offers wide range of undergraduate and post-graduate courses. It has active involvement of leading academicians and researchers like former directors of IITs, VCs of leading universities. “We have a vibrant campus life”, quips one of the students.
Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida
Established in 2004, the Noida campus is the second of the Jaipuria campuses. Considered one of the best B-schools of Delhi-NCR, Jaipuria Noida offers three AICTE approved PGDM programmes PGDM, PGDM (Service Management) and PGDM (Marketing). Shiv Nadar University (SNU)
SNU is a private philanthropic institution established by the Shiv Nadar Foundation in 2011 through an act of the State of Uttar Pradesh. It aims to be an international, multi-disciplinary research university. Located on a 286 acre campus in India’s National Capital Region, the University offers undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral programs in a range of disciplines in engineering, humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, communication, business and education. It has partnered with Carnegie Mellon University in the US for a Global Dual Degree Program in Engineering. Most of the current students are happy and satisfied to be part of an “international set-up” where they are getting “rich learning experiences”.
Manav Rachna University
Founded in 1997, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions has come a long way. Today, the university has got an excellent physical infrastructure, a good mix of students from number of states and countries, strong curricula and modern teaching pedagogy.
