JEE Advanced 2014 is the second stage of the two tier joint entrance exam (JEE) to admit candidates in the various IITs and ISM Dhanbad. The exam is jointly conducted each year by CBSE to provide admissions in the engineering professional degree courses in various branches.

This year, the exam will be organized by IIT Kharagpur on 25 May 2014. All the admissions in the IITs will be done on the score achieved by candidate in the entrance exam. Top 1.5 Lakh candidates would be selected from JEE Main 2014 to attempt the exam. Also, the qualified candidates have to be in top 20 percentage window of the respective Class XII boards to become eligible.

JEE Advanced 2014 Exam Pattern

Exam pattern of JEE Advanced 2014 describes the important features of the entrance exam. It provides great insights over the paper and its various details like duration of the exam, number of papers, weightage of questions, subject marks distribution, number of questions and marking scheme etc.

Every candidate is suggested to read the Exam Pattern JEE Advanced 2014 before taking the exam since it familiarizes them to the actual exam and prepares them better. It also removes nervousness since candidates already know what to expect in the paper and how exactly to attempt it. In a way, it provides them a chance to make a strategy. Candidates can refer to the following exam pattern to know more: 

 

  • Exam will have two question papers, paper-1 and paper-2. Each paper would be of three hours duration.
  • It will be based on questions from Math, Chemistry and Physics from the syllabus of Class XI and Class XII.
  • Language medium of the exam would be Hindi as well as English as per JEE Advanced 2014 Paper Pattern.
  • All sections will consist of objective type questions. Also, some sections will have negative marking.
  • Candidates are allowed to take along the lower answer sheet only after they submit the upper answer sheet to the invigilator on the completion of exam.
  • A center/exam venue once allotted would not be altered in any case and candidate have to attempt the exam on the same.

 

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2014

 

To be eligible for the exam, candidates have to satisfy a given set of conditions known as eligibility criteria. Following are the conditions which must be read by candidates before applying for the entrance exam.

  • Candidate must have qualified the JEE Main 2014 and must be enlisted in the top 1.5 lakh rank holder list to be eligible for admissions in IITs. The selection process of candidates would be held based upon their category of reservation in JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria, which is given here:

  • To be eligible, candidate is required to be in the top 20 percentage window of his/her respective Class XII board.
  • Candidates who have passed out Class XII in 2013 (first attempt) with minimum aggregate of 60% (General, OBC) and 55% (PwD, ST, SC) are eligible as per Eligibility Conditions for JEE Advanced 2014.
  • A candidate is allowed to attempt the entrance exam for a maximum number of two times in a row.
  • Already admitted candidates to IITs and ISM Dhanbad would be ineligible for attempting the entrance exam.

 

JEE Advanced 2014 Online Application Form

Candidates have to fill the application form to acknowledge themselves for the entrance exam. Application form have been released online on the official website of JEE Advanced. Candidates can fill the form by submitting their details and scores from JEE Main 2014 in the fields as asked. The candidates can avail the application form from May 4th 2014 from 10:00 AM onward and the last date for registration is 9th May, 2014 5:00 PM

 

Candidates must fill the Application Form of JEE Advanced 2014 only after checking all the clauses in the eligibility criteria. Candidates have to remit the application form fee through challans to be payable at SBI branches to complete the form filling process. Application form fee for general, NCL-OBC candidates is Rs.1800 and Rs.900 for ST, SC, PwD. No fee will be charged from female candidates. No fees of application form will be refunded to candidate in any case. Also, the candidate cannot withdraw from the process.

 

JEE Advanced 2014 Admit Card

On successful completion of application form submission; form completion and fee remission, candidates can download the admit card from the official website of the exam from 11th May, 2014 till 24th May, 2014. To download the admit card, candidates have to access the portals of zonal IIT website.

 

It is required by every candidate to bring the Hall Ticket of JEE Advanced 2014to the exam venue. No candidate would be allowed to attempt the exam without it. Also, it is an important identification proof of candidate thus must be preserved till the admission process is over.

 

JEE Advanced 2014 Exam Result

Candidates can check and download the result of entrance exam of JEE on the official website from 19th June, 2014. To see the exam score, they need to access the website, fill in the necessary information, roll number, application number etc and press submit button. If two or more candidates obtain the same number of marks in Result of JEE Advanced 2014, a tie breaking algorithm would be followed which is given as below:

 

  • Priority will be given to candidate with higher marks in Mathematics followed by marks obtained in Physics.
  • Equal ranks would be given to candidates if they have equal marks in all of three subjects.
